The Peipsi sailing barge was a special, historical transport vessel that was specifically designed to fit the needs of the Lake Peipsi and Emajõgi river region. The last of these ships were found in this area with their sails and masts removed and pulled along the river by steam-tugboats as late as after WWII. None of these ships remain intact today. 

April 29, 2006 was a day of celebration for barge friends with the launching of the first barge built in fifty years. It was given the name “Jõmmu”. The sailing barge “Jõmmu” and other hand-made rowboats await visitors at the harbor and Small Barge Yard on Ujula St. 98.
